What Prognosis Should I Follow For Bilateral Metastatic Lung Cancer Which Has Been Untreated For Over Two Years?
Question: I have lung cancer in both lungs. I am at stage 4 and metastatic. I have been trying for two years to get some kind of treatment started, but kept being told they (dr's) wanted more biopsies. I feel something should have been done to help so as I didn't get worse. Please give me your opinion. I have come to the point where I feel hopeless. My two sons feel the doctors shouldn't get away with this. I can't find where I pay for answer.
Brief Answer:
Chemoradiothetapy is the treatment of choice for your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It feels sad when someone went untreated for almost 2 years suffering From bilateral metastatic lung cancer. Surgery is out of question in your case. Chemotherapy with radiation is the treatment of choice for you. It is good that they have started now. So continue with chemo-radiotherapy.
You should take 6-8 cycles and then reassess the tumor size and spread. Future plan of treatment will depend on follow up PET scan report.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
