What Should I Do About Borderline High LDL Level?

Question: I hv done blood tests recently...My total cholesterol was 191 mgdl, triglycerides 50 mg dl, ldl 139 mgdl ,hdl 41mgdl and urea 26 mgdl creatinine 0.8 mg dl and uric acid 8.3 .....01 hrs before blood tests I ran 08 km Marathon...plse comment on this results....plse tk my run into consideration as whether it can affect results...

I have gone through the details. Your cholesterol levels are normal except for LDL which is borderline high. As your other values are normal it is not much of a concern. You can try diet and exercise. As long as your BMI is normal, it is okay.

Hi,

Urea and uric acid is mildly increased. It can be if you have increase protein in your diet.

I would suggest you repeat the test after 3 months. Exercise can also cause increase in urea/uric acids as your muscle protein breakdown.
