What Should I Do About Deficits In Executive Function Close To Half A Decade After A Stroke?

Question: Neurologist/psychiatrist: I'm a computer programmer and electronics engineer. I had a stroke in December 2016 which involved my basal ganglia. There were no cognitive or memory defecits(only executive function) according to two neuropsych tests. I want to rehabilitate myself and cross-train for a new career. I want to use low-dose (10-20 mg) Adderall or Ritalin to that end. (three reasons: the Netflix documentary "Take Your Pills", three studies I found on " Ampetamines and Stroke", and learning that ADHD seems to be a disorder related to executive function!) I'm over 50, & never smoked or used drugs recreationally or street drugs ever. Also, no heart attacks. I've lost 60 lbs(down from 300 lbs).. I'm 6'3" . Your opinion?
Brief Answer:
Ido not think it can be used as expected
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Although Addeall is used in executive dysfunction arising from stroke and apathy but the effectiveness is very much limited. In addition the use of adrenal itself is associated with hemorrhagic stroke and I do not think this can be used.
I must inform you that medicine is all different that what is shown in documentaries and the effect varies from person to person.
I do not agree with the use of adderall for training purpose.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks again.
