What Should I Do For Salmonella Poisoning?
Question: I ate some recalled Jif peanut butter last Saturday or Sunday that was recalled for salmonella poisoning. That I didn’t know it was recalled. It’s been 4 or 5 days my stomachs been hurting and now today I have diarrhea. It seems no matter what I try to eat my stomach hurts now. How long will it take for my stomach to feel better? I have some gas too. What should I do or not do, to get better?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely salmonella.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Your symptoms are unlikely related to salmonella infection and most likely due to minor gastritis. Undue concerns about salmonella may also added the severity.
As of now you can take antacids like pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.
Drink plenty of water and your symptoms most likely settle in few days.
Thanks

I’ve been taking pantoprazole for a long time now for acid reflux. It’s not because of the recalled peanut butter I ate on Sunday? Can I take Immodium for the diarrhea? What kind of antacid should I take? and should I drink gateraide or gingerale? What should I eat, toast? How long will this last yet?

Thanks

Yes I have severe anxiety and I’m on clonzepam for it. Right now I have pain on my ribs around my chest and it hurts when I press on my breast, I’ve had inflamed ribs before, could that be it or anxiety? I’ve been through a lot of stress lately, last year my hubby had a burst appendix and got septic, then my sister had a to have a whole new hip put in, then this month my cousin passed away he was only 64.plus my son has autism. So wondering if all this has something to do with it. And now I’m having a problem going to the bathroom. What can I do about that?
