What Should Be The Minimum Gap Between A Dose Of Suppol 170 Suppository And Meftal P For A Toddler?
Question: My daughter is 2.5 years old. What should be the minimum gap between a dose of suppol 170 suppository and Meftal P?
Brief Answer:
Independent of each other. No minimum gap.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If your child has a fever with temperature more than 100°F, you need to give Suppol (Paracetamol) to bring it down. Also use tepid sponging. If paracetamol is not effective in bringing down the temperature, you need to use Meftal-P (Mefenamic acid) which is more effective.
The minimum gap between two doses of Suppol is 4-6 hours. The doses of Suppol and Meftal P are independent of each other. Minimum gap between doses of Meftal P is 6-8 hours.
However, I do not think that they would be needed to be used simultaneously.
Feel free to write back.
