                                            Question : Hello Doctor,
My son is 15 months old he having fever. Doctor suggested calpol 250 for fever at every 6th hours once and Ibugesic in case fever is above 102 and Ibugesic as SOS XXXXXXX 3 doses in a day.
We gave Ibugesic 4 hours back, fever reduced and now back to 102. Is it okay to give calpol now ?
Shall we give calpol at every 6th hours irrespective of Ibugesic? And give Ibugesic is fever is more than 102.
What should be the pattern of doses we should follow?

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be given every 6 hours
Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
thank you for posting to us
I understand your concern
Both Paracetamol and Ibuprofen can be given 4 time a day(every 6 hours).
A better way would be: Give Calpol every 6 hours for first 48 hours of fever and then SOS thereafter.
Give Ibuprofen if fever not coming down after 1-1.5 hours of Calpol.
Both can be given 4 times a day, provided 6 hours gap is maintained between 2 doses of the same drug.
Rest of the things as suggested by your doctor
I hope it is clear
fell free to ask if you need further clarification
Take care
Thank you
