What Should Be Time Gap For Taking Try Both Steroids And Botox Soon Due To Increased Pain?

Question: Doctor, just one very quick but important question since they want to try both steroids and botox soon due to increased pain. It would be two different doctors - one doing steroids, other botox. Since I believe both linger somewhat in the system, what would be a good waiting period between the two or would both be safe to have done relatively close to one another? Thanks so much.

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for the direct questions.

I have read your new question.

Botox injections and steroid injections have different mechanisms of action regarding pain.

Since there was recent trauma due to dental work, it is advisable first to try steroid injections to settle the inflammation.

Botox injection, in my opinion, should be reserved for the latter, if the steroid injection does not result in significant improvement in a couple of weeks.

Discuss with your Doctor these issues.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
