Brief Answer:
Apply topical antibiotic and place the cat under quarantine

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Please do not worry; it is just a small bruise after a puncture wound from a cat bite. You should apply topical antibiotic cream (triple antibiotic ointment) to prevent secondary infections. But if you develop redness, swelling and local pain in the area you should contact your doctor. You should get prescription antibiotics for it.

The risk of rabies from a cat bite is fairly low. But if your cat has been vaccinated against rabies you should place the cat under quarantine for at least 2 weeks. If the cat has not been vaccinated quarantine should be continued at least a month. You should observe your cat during the quarantine period. If the cat develops any unusual behavior such as aggression, restlessness , increased voice, loss of appetite or weakness you should contact you doctor. You may be given rabies vaccine.

I hope I have answered your question. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you.
