What Treatment Is Effective In Completely Curing Gallstones?
Question: one of my female relatives aged 65 yrs had been diagnosed with gallstones having one largest stone measuring 31mm. what should be the course of treatment? is it necessary to get it cured by medicine s only or surgery is absolutely necessary? if yes what will be the procedure for surgery? USG report is attached

1) If the patient doesn't have symptoms the treatment can start with prescribed medication like ursodiol. You can consult her doctor about this treatment.
2) If the patient has sudden onset pain than the treatment consists in:
-prescribed antibiotics
-painkillers
-surgery. The procedure consists in small cuts in the abdomen and removal of the gallbladder and gallstones. It is done under general anesthesia.

yes, she was experiencing pain. in pre operative tests she has been diagnosed with some more complications as per attached reports. do these complications belong to gallstones? what is your advice on further course of treatment.
