What Would Cause Intermittent Episodes Of Numbness In The Face, Arms, Hands And Chest?
Question: My 22 year old son came home last night complaining of numbness in his face, arms, hand and chest. He stated that the episodes last from 30 to 45 minutes. He also stated that he has experienced this off and on for the past 3 years. He had a significant history of asthma as a child and is a cigarette smoker. He describes the episodes as feeling like when your foot falls asleep. One episode caused him to pass out. Thank you for your response.
Brief Answer:
Drugs use is a possibility.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Now, I understand this can be difficult, but you should discuss with your son and ask him if he uses any drugs because drugs abuse may cause such similar symptoms.
If no then it is necessary for your son to get evaluated by a Neurologist for conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
