What’s Causing This Bacteria Infection ?

Question: Healthy 27 year old male, have been seen multiple times by family practice for growth on tongue. This growth is yellow and sometimes white. I have to brush it off and it always comes back, I was given antifungal treatment and culture tests showed no fungus. What’s causing this bacteria ? It’s going on for almost a year now. The last visit the doctor said it was allergies and post nasal drip, but I’ve never had this problem before. I was also tested for a few viruses that came
Back negative. This is annoying and causes a sore throat when I brush it off. I know most of the time it’s not harmful and maybe it’s just dead skin cells? But there’s got to be a way to keep it from happening or a reason why.
