mouth region-HSV1; genital region-HSV2
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
As per your query you want to know the difference between HSV2 and genital herpes.
to clarify about above let you know the medical facts regarding herpes:
Herpes is a viral infection which occurs at two places. One at lips and the other is at genital areas. Both the places herpes lesions manifest itself as small vesicles (fluid filled blisters) which remains for a day or two and then forms ulcers which are quite painful for the first time.
To begin with also these vesicles are quite painful and itchy with discomfort and once the vesicles burst in a day or two then the ulcers which are formed are quite painful for next 4-5 days. These ulcers then heal in next 5-7 days.
Basically the fact is that at mouth region it is mainly caused by herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) and at genital region it is caused by hereps simplex virus2 (HSV2).
But in some cases the reverse is also possible that at mouth can be caused by HSV2 and genital by HSV1.
But in common terminology genital hereps is mainly caused by HSV2.
So reading all the facts you got to know that mainly there is no difference in genital herpes and its causative agent of HSV2 but in some cases it can be caused by HSV1 also.
Hope the informations will help you, if you have any further query I will be happy to help.
Wish you good health
