Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to coronary artery disease or carotid artery stenosis, leading to low blood flow to the brain.
Another possible cause to consider would be a bulging disk in the cervical vertebral column.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing some tests:
- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound
- a Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries
- blood lipid profile
- fasting glucose
- complete blood count for anemia
- a cervical column X ray study.
An exercise cardiac stress test would help investigate for possible coronary artery disease.
An EEG may be needed in order to exclude possible focal epilepsy seizures, which may mimic this clinical situation too.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!
Kind regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
