When Can One Expect Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Mifeprin?
Question: Morning I took mifprin tab orally after what time bleeding will occur

I believe you have taken Mifeprin tablet for medical termination of pregnancy. Mifeprin contains Mifepristone. In fact Tab. Mifepristole 200 mg. taken orally should be followed by Tab. Misoprostol 800 microgm vaginally, bucally or sublingually 24-48 hours after Tab. Mifepristone to terminate the pregnancy up to 9 weeks duration. Then usually within 24 hours but may be up to 7 days, the abortion takes place.
Even if you are late in taking Tab. Misoprostol, you may take it by repeating Mifepristone again; however only after the advice from a Gynaecologist.
In fact these medicines are not 'Over the Counter Medicines' and need to be taken only by Gynaecologist's advice and prescription. Have you taken this tablet of your own? If so please report to your Gynaecologist and take complete course. Incomplete medication or inadequate dose may lead to failure to abort or erratic bleeding.
Once these medicines are consumed, you should not revert the decision of termination of pregnancy to continuation since these medicines can affect the development of baby abnormally. Hence in case of failure, please get the termination completed by surgical evacuation of the uterus from a Gynaecologist.
Please do not waste valuable time in waiting for the termination to take place optimistically. Report to your Gynaecologist and take the proper medicines in adequate dosages and within stipulated time.
