Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Based on your description, it most likely appears to be a case of musculoskeletal spasm especially if the history is short. If there are no contraindications e.g gastritis or severe kidney disease then NSAIDs like naproxen can be advised. If NSAIDs cant be taken then tramadol can be the substitute for it. Additionally, muscle relaxants like tizanidine and paracetamol can be used. Local application of piroxicam Fastum gel can be applied for quicker relief. Physiotherapy has proven benefit and can be sought for.
The neck should be examined. History of joint disease e.g Rheumatoid arthritis would preclude any overt manipulation of the neck. If there is no obvious swelling or deformity or history of trauma then imaging may not be necessary and empirical treatment as described above would suffice.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
