Endoscopy to rule out peptic ulcers.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing our platform for your query my dear patient.
Most likely your doctor is suspecting of iron deficiency anemia. There are number of types of anemia. By endoscopy he is going to rule out any ulcers in duodenum or stomach. These ulcers acts as a site of bleed and causes lose of 10 to 15 ml of blood daily which in long runs result in severe anemia. This test is called endoscopy. In case ulcers are there you would be treated with antacids and sucralfate for 3 months. Some times these ulcers are caused by a bacterium named H. pylori; Endoscopy is going to help with that.
Hope i answered your query well.
In case you have any confusion do revert back.
Thanks.
