When Does Vaginal Bleeding Start After Taking MTP Kit?
Question: Dear Doctor,
I am pregnant and its 42 days since last period. I don't want to conceive this so I've taken mifepristone orally on 28th at 11:30 pm but as nothing happen till morning so i've taken 2 (200mg) of misoprostol according to the manual (it said that if nothing happen after 4 hours of taking the mifepristone take 2 misopristol) next morning at 10:30 am. The same day in the evening period starts but only after 2 to 3 tblspns it stopped.I m very worried about this. shall i wait for sometime or take the second dose? please suggest me. i had ectopic pregnancy before but there is nothing like that this time. I have visited the doctor and done USG. Now please suggest me what to do now?

I think you have not followed the right way to take MTP pills. (Either the info on manual was incomplete or you did not understand it).
After taking mifepristone, misoprostol is to be taken 4 tablets within 24 hours. Some clinicians advice to take after 4-6 hours and some advice after 12 hours.
Mifepristone alone does not cause abortion.
Bleeding is expected after 4-8 hours of taking the drugs.
Misoprostol is taken either intravaginally or buccally (placed between gums and cheeks).
I would suggest you to take remaining tablets of misoprostol (under your doctor's supervision). If there is no bleeding after 4-8 hours, an abdominal ultrasound is indicated.
Please consult your gynecologist for proper treatment rather then giving trials based on manual of drug.
