A tooth which is root canal treated probably have a very large cavity which has reached the pulp tissue where the nerve is located. After the Dentist has cleaned the tooth from decay and the root canal treatment is completed there usually doesnt remain sufficient healthy dental material to restore the tooth with a filling, therefore it is necessary to complete the treatment by placing the DENTAL CROWN so that the tooth does not break or fracture eventually.
