When Is It Safe To Have Unprotected Sex?

Question: Hi,

Is having unprotected sex on day 6-7 safe (while not ejaculating inside). On day 6-7 she is still at the end of her period (brownish color period, sign of period ending). My girlfriend is having periods almost regularly like +- 3 days.
