Question: Hi doctor my report on 20.9.18 says t3 106 t4 8.6 and Tsh is 6.73 comments on the report say if not on drugs suggested ft3 and ft4 estimation i am currently not taking any medicines i am a lady my age is 42 what should i do now need guidance

Yes, you've read it right, as from your description it seems like total T3, T4 estimation was done. The measured TSH level is borderline high.

So, for further management, free T3,T4 (fT3,fT4) estimation should be done along with anti-TPO antibodies to look for the complete assessment of the Thyroid gland.

In future also, please try to get free T3, T4 estimation only. As they're superior to total T3, T4 simply because they're the most active ones, and fT3 fT4 actually shows how much of the hormone is available for use by our body.

Not to worry. Management can be done based on the findings. If found to be having a deficiency, appropriate supplementation therapy (Thyroxine supplements) should be started by your doctor after examining you clinically.
