Where Would Symptoms Of Herpes Occur?

Question: Hi, A few days ago, I noticed what looked like a regular pimple on the top of my clitoris. It was on the top on the hood part. Definitely on the clitoris and not in the hair line. I squeezed it, but it didn't seem to pop and there was no noticeable fluid. I didn't hurt except for momentary discomfort when I squeezed it, but has not hurt before or after and did not turn into a blister or ulcer. It has now healed over with a tiny scab. Last night, I noticed what appears to be a small, again non-tender, bump in the left corner of my mouth on my lip (closer toward my gums than to my face). Again, it doesn't hurt, doesn't seem to be spreading and hasn't popped or ulcerated, but it feels like I may now be developing a second one in the right corner of my mouth. I've had protected sex with a man infected with HSV2 within the past two weeks. I am on antivirals (acylovir, 400 mg twice a day). My partner has been infected with HSV2 for at least 25 years and rarely gets an outbreak. In fact, the last one I am aware of was over two years ago. I performed unprotected oral sex on him (although we always use condoms for sex). How likely is it that either the pimple I saw on my clitoris or the two small sores on the corners of my mouth are HSV?

HSV, as you probably know from your partner, causes painful or itchy sores.

The clitoris has sebaceous glands and sweat glands like the rest of your skin. Your pores can get blocked and produce a bump like a pimple, which will go away when it bursts.

Regarding your mouth, HSV2 only rarely infects the mouth, and if it does, it causes a severe throat infection and fever.

So if you are developing a sore in the corner of your mouth, if anything, it may be HSV1.

The fact that you and your partner use condoms and you take antivirals also really lead away from any suspicion of HSV.

So in summary, I doubt your symptoms are caused by any type of STD.
