Hi,
For constant sticky post nasal drip, you may find relief with following medicines:
1.Antiallergic like loratidine or levocetrizine.
Combination of montelukast will be of help if you have cough problem, breathing problem, also.
2.Nasal decongestant spray like Oxymetazoline /Otrivin nasal spray.(It helps in reducing congestion of nose which leads to nasal secretions)
3.Saline nasal spray.(it helps to remove dust particles from nose and clear the nose)
4.Mucolytic like Mucinac.(It helps to break the thick mucus secretions).
Also do steam inhalation.
If possible, avoid the source of allergy like dirt, use of mask in dusty places,
Avoid eating cold,and sugary foods.
Drink lots of warm fluids.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Talking about sprays, doctor once suggested me steroidal based nasal spray such as based on Fluticasone Propionate or Mometasone but i never took them as i believe they are not good for long term use besides they cost a lot, could you please tell me whether they are safe enough or helpful in case of allergic post nasal drip?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,I have gone through your query.
Mostly,Levocetrizine can be taken for around 2 weeks ,safely.
If still symptoms remain,then
it is generally safe to use Nasal Steroid spray like Fluticasone/Mometasone for 4 weeks , without any systemic side effects. They have been found effective in allergic rhinitis.
If you have sticky nasal drip, means it contains mucus.Mucolytic helps in break down of mucus.
I would be helpful to answer you if you have any further query.
