Which Is Best For Vaginal Suppository To Help With Symptoms From A Pudental Nerve Issue And To Try Alpha Lip And/or Valerarian Root
Question: Hi, Dr. Wani. My doctor suggested I try a vaginal suppository to help with symptoms from a pudental nerve issue and to try alpha lip and/or valerarian root. My question is this - would absorption be better in a solid pill form or a capsule? Thanks so much for your answer.

Hi,
Capsules allow for quicker absorption. They have higher bioavailability, i.e., more medication enters the bloodstream. So capsule form is better than pill form. I presume you are asking this question, with regard to alpha lipoic acid.
Did you have PRP injected around the pudendal nerve?
Regards.

Hi, doctor. Yes, alpha lipoic acid. Re: PRP - no, symptoms abated for over a month and thought it was solved. Wrong assumption, the burning, stinging, and constant feeling to urinate with nothing in bladder have all returned. Two quick questions - if symptoms fade again, would u advise to wait on procedure and also, what is your feeling on PRP in terms of effectiveness for pudental nerve? The doctor feels this may be better than any injection such as steroid.. Thanks so much.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
I am of the opinion that you should try the PRP injection.
As I said earlier, though I have not used it yet, my colleagues have used it and are happy with the results.
