Question: Which is better Dexilant or Prevacid. I am on Prevacid, doesn’t seem to be working.

dexlansoprazole (dexilant) seems to raise the stomach pH a little more than lansoprazole (prevacid) and it may also have a more durable effect on stomach pH. Despite that, failure to improve with either, usually means that acidity is not the cause of the patient's symptoms. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy would be very useful to assess the situation. Please keep in mind that any proton pump inhibitor may require a few days before symptom improvement becomes apparent.
