Levaquin can be used, this would be the better option of the two because it has a broader base of action. It is not the normal first line antibiotic, that would be augmentin which is amoxicillin plus another agent .The other agent reduces bacteria resistance to the antibiotic.
Since augmentin is not available, the levaquin can be used, it is also one of the possible recommended drugs.
It is effective against more organisms than amoxicillin and would be more likely to prevent or treat any infection that would be present
According to the guidelines , if no infection is present then antibiotics can be used for three to five days.
If an infection is present, at least 10 days may be needed
