Which One Of Marvelon And Yasmin Is Good As A Contraceptive?
Question: Hi,
I am currently on the birth control Marvelon but I am getting depression with it. Sometimes I feel absolutely fine and other days I feel really low. I'm also experiencing increased sweating but it has helped to clear up my skin and control the oil which is one of the main reasons I went on this pill as I have a history of acne and facial hair, however I also use it as a contraceptive too. I wanted to change to XXXXXXX as a doctor on here informed me that it has a more narrow side effect margin than marvelon, however last time I was on XXXXXXX it caused excessive sweating and constant urination but it really helped with my acne and oily skin more than marvelon. I would really like to change back to XXXXXXX as I feel it is better for my skin in controlling oil and spots and also I did not get depression with it but I'm just worried about sweating loads and going to the toilet alot and also the blood clot scare. So I was wondering if Yaz would be a better choice and is it as good for the skin as Marvelon and XXXXXXX in controling excessive oil and spots?
Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that both of them are an estrogen and progestin combination pill .Marvelon contains Desogestrel - ethinyl estradiol and XXXXXXX contains drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol . Both are quite efficacious and its just the matter which suits you more.
But in your case with facial hair also I think XXXXXXX would be a better option if your are able to tolerate it .
Take care.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I was actually referring to the sister pill of XXXXXXX called 'Yaz' or 'Yas' which I think is a lower dose of XXXXXXX but I wondered if it would be as sucessful as XXXXXXX and Marvelon but with less side effect due to the lower dose. So please could you give me some more information on this pill if you know of it.
Thank you

Dear Madam,
Yaz tablet contains 0.020 mg ethinylestradiol and 3 mg drospirenone., I think it will differ from individual to individual but you can shift on to this pill , I think it will minimise the side effects only but its beneficial effects will be same.
