Which Specialist Doctor Can I Consult To Treat And Cure Schamberg Disease In Both Legs?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I have scamberg disease (in both legs) for past 2 years, as per doctor advice i have taken pentoxyfylline for nearly a year. but no improvement later then currently taking Grapseed extract (OPC) for past month. If i apply any topical application it gets more, so i am not applying any topical cream.
I just wanted to know the following
Any specialist available to cure this disease ?
Any advance treatment is available ?
Any supplements could cause this disease ?
Vitamin K cream will provide any positive response ?

Hi,
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
Schamberg disease is a chronic disease very resistant to treatment.
The pigmentation can reduce to some extent but won’t disappear completely.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply tacrolimus 0.1 percent ointment on the affected areas twice daily and take tablet calcium dobesilate 500 mg twice daily along with tablet vitamin C 500 mg twice daily for 2-3 months.
These will lighten the pigmentation to a great extent.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
No advanced treatment is available for this disease and supplements usually don’t cause this disease.
Vitamin K cream won’t be very effective in treating this condition.
