Question: Hi sir,my urine culture test result is as follows -Gram stained smear shows plenty os pus cells and occasional epithelial cells.Gram positive diplococci are seen in groups.No yeasts,no pseudomyceliae and no other fungal elements are seen.Specimen is straw yellow in color.Organism isolated ENTERCOCCI.Significant growth >100000 cfu/ml.What does it indicates and which specialist doctor shall I consult,Thank you sir

You seem to have UTI due to Enterococci organisms.

Thanks for query and uploading urine report.

However, it'd have better if the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of the organisms was uploaded too.

You need to consult qualified Urologist

I'd advice taking Ciprofloxacin 500 mg and Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice daily along with urine alkalizer Citralka two teaspoon full thrice daily

If you have the complete urine culture report with you please upload the same so that I can suggest the appropriate antibiotic to be taken.

Ensure to drink more water.

Please get the prescription for these medicines from your family physician.
