Which Specialist Doctor Should I Consult For Suspicions Of RRMS Or SPMS?

Question: Hello Dr. Rynne. I suspect RRMS or SPMS. My GP recently indicated the possibility during an office visit. What kind of Doctor should i seek out for a more definitive diagnosis please? Also, is a spinal tap necessary for certainty? This is the broadest opposite of an appealing thought. Thank you, Chris Wolter (Atlanta)

Brief Answer:
Need to consult a Neurologist

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

For the confirmation of multiple sclerosis you need the help of a Neurologist.
He is better qualified to diagnose this.
A spinal tap is used in diagnosing multiple sclerosis.
The spinal tap is done to study protein of cerebrospinal fluid.
Other tests used are MRI brain.
In nutshell consult a Neurologist as soon as possible.
