![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I was having symptoms of COVID 19 infection on 31st March 21. I gave my sample for RT PCR on the same day which reported positive on 2nd April. I had started medicines on 31st itself and started recovering from 3rd April. I was retested on 10th April which came negative on 12th. I have not been vaccinated till now and I want to know that when is it safe to have my first jab of vaccine. After how many days of recovery one should go for the first shot and which vaccine is preferred for COVID recovered persons? Do we need to get tested for Antibodies before scheduling the first jab?
Brief Answer:
You can take it right away. No testing needed
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is usually considered best to wait at least 14 days after you started having Covid-19 symptoms before getting a Covid-19 vaccine i.e. 14 days from 31st March. In other words, you can feel free to proceed with the vaccination right away. Antibody test need not be done prior to vaccination.
