Hello,

A chronic pain in the knee due to infections after TKR will be relieved with a hot compress as it will improve the blood circulation around the knee to combat the infection also. She can do a hot compress thrice a day and apply local analgesic gel after each such session for better results.

Thanks for your answer above. She will use heat as advised. Sometimes when she is sitting completely unmoving a sharp pain occurs in her knee. She is not moving or applying heat or anything. Just sitting there somewhat relaxed. What could cause the sudden very sharp pain in her knee? Scar tissue expanding or moving? She has always had trouble with scar tissue. XXXXXXX
