Question: Hello Doctor,
We are seeing some white patches on our 2 years baby cheeks. These patches are visible only on cheeks and not on any other body parts.
Some times these patches seems to be reduced but again able to see in couple of days. Please find the attached picture and let us know is it a serious issue to be considered ?
It will be a great ful if you suggest the solution.
Thanks !

Brief Answer:
Pityriasis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and I have viewed the image.
These ill defined whitish patches on your child's cheek are not anything serious. They are common in those who have dry skin and are known as pityriasis I suggest you to avoid using soap on face. Instead use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil. Also moisturize the skin with a moisturising cream like cetaphil moisturising cream. Over that you may use hydrocortisone 1% cream twice daily just for the patches.
Take care
