Both

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

An orthopedic surgeon usually deals with the acute fracture. A hand surgeon does too but not as commonly and in an acute situation.

I hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

There are two options you have. Either surgery with or conservative treatment using plaster.

Since the fracture is in many pieces it is best treated conservatively.

Though an experienced hand surgeon may want to operate and put screws and/or plate to fix this fracture.

The fracture will heal. If only plaster then your hand will need to be immobilized for 6 weeks or so and after healing there may be bony deformity.

Surgery can prevent the above.

Hope I have answered your query.
