Why BP Shows Different At Different Times?

Question: Wife 66 years old. Blood pressure 1.5 hours ago was 227/77, checked again immediately was: 225/87. Took again 45 min later was: 216/81, waited 30 mim and took again, was 201/63. It this of great concern?

Thank you for using Ask a Doctor. Systolic Blood pressure above 200 is too high. If she does has symptoms of numbness or weakness, headache, chest pain. It is cause called emergency hypertension. If she does not have any symptoms. It is cause called urgency hypertension. Even though, she need to go to hospital as soon as possible to correct her high blood pressure to prevent her causing damage her end organ that could be so dangerous for her.
