Why I Feel A Bit Of Stomach Ache. Not Sure If There Is Still Any Infection Causing Heaviness In Stomach
Question: Friday onwards starting feeling a bad stomach and was tired, had a dolo 650 and became better, atleast last 3 days feeling heaviness in the stomach. Took Nexpro 20 mg, was better on Sunday and had some mutton and was alright yesterday. Today feel a bit of stomach ache. Not sure if there is still any infection causing heaviness in stomach.

Hello,
Stomach upset and tiredness could be symptom of allergy itself. Allergy can activate proton pump in stomach, that is why nexpro worked. Nexpro is a proton pump inhibitor.
To rule out infection, you can do the following tests:
- Complete blood count
- Typhidot test
- stool complete analysis including stool analysis, stool culture and sensitivity, stool for ova and cysts.
these tests can help rule out any infection including bacteria and parasites. Viruses cannot be ruled out with these tests. Viral infections get better by themselves.
Heaviness could be due to indigestion during recovery period. It might be temporary phase. Drink lots of water (clean drinking water) and avoid complex proteins including non-veg foods.
