Why I Feel Very Dehydrated?
Question: I feel very dehydrated. Can't hardly drink as much as I would like. Can I drink Biolyte ? Well it help me to get over the hump or should I go to urgent care or the hospital and get an IV. I keep feeling like I'm having like heart burn on and off over the left breast area. Just don't feel the best and don't know what to do... thanks
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Good morning,
My apologies for the delay, BIOLYTE is a fine option here, often in the ER or hospital we will recommend BIOLYTE, PEDIALYTE or even GATORADE, really anything with electrolytes is ideal. By with ongoing heartburn symtpoms the BIOLYTE might be a better option in general. Now if the heartburn is not a typical sensation for you and this feels not normal, particularly in your left chest wall region, then certainly try to rehydrate and see if that helps, but if this worsens then do go at least to an urgent care center and get looked at. I will be around most of the day today so reach back out if I can help.
Sincerely,
Dr David G

Gm, I don't think this is heart burn. It feels kinda like an electric shock that's in the upper part of the left breast moving toward the center of the chest. I had an EKG on Friday and they claimed it was OK. The feeling is not constant. It comes and goes. What can I do about feeling so tired? I tire out very quickly with anything I do. I can't exercise now or hardly nothing. Yesterday, was the first day, I was able to eat a balanced meal and kept it all down but my back still hurts like crazy. I will be so glad when this nightmare is finally over. Had another covid test it still says negative but I was told that I can't have my 2nd Pfizer shot for at least 2 months and I'm confused about that. Is there any tests that I can have the doctors run to see how I'm improving or what I can do to get better quickly while making sure no real damage was done from covid on my body??? Thanks

So let me address each of these concerns below
Detailed Answer:
Sure, and about all you can do really is get the COVID ANTIBODY TITER, that is really all you can do here. Now a CRP will show any widespread inflammation, so I usually get several of these in a row, every other day to see if this is going down. If it is really low or going down that is a good indicator that not ongoing damage is occurring. Really there is no other way to measure organ damage here other than measuring the function of the organs with a Complete Metabolic Panel. The EKG is a good sign and I do suspect this is all post-COVID related but I do think a broader lab workup needs done

Ok. So, please help me to understand something. Even though my covid test have all been negative this virus could still be causing havoc on my other organs since I do have high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes and elevated cholesterol at times is what your saying or am I understanding this incorrectly?? I don't know what else to do but at this point I'm becoming a little frustrated because I don't understand for how long do I have to worry about this virus causing problem still in my body even though the tests are saying negative. I just don't get it and I'm sorry to be a nuisance. It's there any type of Detox or Chelation that can be done to help this out of my system? Anything?

So there is some false negatives that we see with COVID, but if you have had several negative tests then really the virus is not present. Can I ask why you suspect it is causing problems? The bloodwork will determine organ damage but I dont think this really is actively going on here

Dr. G,
Pease understand. My chest is bothering me. I feel very dry like I just can't get enough fluids within myself. I did not have these types of problems before covid. I am very weak like I just can't get myself totally together anymore. I don't know if I should go to the hospital just as a precaution or wait things out . I don't know what to do but this is why I have been feeling like it could be organ damage or covid still causing me problems

Brief Answer:
I think ER is best
Detailed Answer:
In this case I think going to the ER is the best option, they can not only exam you but perform the necessary lab work to find out what is exactly wrong here

Dr. G, WENT TO THE ER and they said every test and xray was totally normal. I don't know what the problem is but one doctor said it may be reflux and all. I don't know but I do know I want it gone. What's the fastest relief I can take to get rid of this discomfort if it is relax? Now since covid my blood pressure is running low. I know what I can do about that now as well. Last night before I was suppose to take my Norvasc it was 99/76 so I did not take my Norvasc in fear that it would drop too low. What can I take for the throat congestion? Will not go away fast enough and stay gone....
Brief Answer:
Sure
Detailed Answer:
So the fastest reflux medication is going to be PEPCID 20mg twice daily. This works rather quickly, usually in hours to resolve the discomfort. As far as chest congestion probably MUCINEX twice daily is the best option to loosen and resolve that.

I prefer liquid so Maalox is not good to take? Can I use prescription Bromfed DM or you prefer not? I need some quick drying. I'm going to see my doctor this morning for follow up visit at 11am today so what should I ask for whether it be prescription or XXXXXXX tests that should be ran etc? I don't want to leave anything out. Also, when do you think I should get me 2nd Pfizer vaccine since having covid because I had only had one dose when I caught covid.... thanks
Brief Answer:
Sure
Detailed Answer:
Maalox is fine, short acting and doesnt last long, but it is fine. Bromfed DM is also appropriate here. I think regarding the 2nd vaccine dose, you need to be well past these symtpoms so as not to complicate the issue. I would wait

Dr. G, I do not want short acting. I need long acting so you're saying I should take 20mg Pepcid. Correct or what? I'm going to the Dr this morning for a follow up so what prescription would be good and fast acting but long lasting for this issue in fact if it is reflux??? I will have to start all over with my vaccine phase if I wait until after the 24th of Feb to get my 2nd shot. I really did not want to do that but if I have to I will because I just want to get better and stay healthy now so more than ever moving forward. What protection will I have from this virus if I don't get my 2nd shot soon? What is the XXXXXXX of zinc can I take daily?
