Why I Have A Lot Of Phlegm Every Day?

Posted on 1 day ago
Question: I have a lot of phlegm every day, especially after eating. A doctor at Urgent Care said that I likely have GERD and prescribed pepcid, which did not help at all. I tried prilosec and it helped some but I still constantly have to clear my throat or cough. I am so tired of having to put my life on hold because I am constantly coughing or clearing my throat.

Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
The possible causes include -
1. GERD
2. Post Nasal drip due to sinusitis.

If it is due to GERD, you will have relief with Prilosec and lifestyle/dietary changes.
If there is no improvement, then sinusitis with post nasal drip has to be ruled out.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
