Brief Answer:
very common complaint

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

if this is the only symptom you're having then please be informed that ringing is a very common complaint and many individuals learn to live with it as it insists in most cases. You may hear it louder during the less noisy moments of the day (and night). Sometimes it may be the result of exposure to very loud noise or certain medications but in most cases the cause cannot be found. You should make an appointment with an ENT specialist to check your ears and perhaps also some rather unusual causes of ringing that involve the nervous system.

If ringing is accompanied by other symptoms as well (like vertigo, hearing loss, etc) or was caused by a head injury then it may be more important and you should visit a doctor sooner.

Kind Regards,
