Why I Have Been Recently Getting Yeast Infections After Intercourse?
Question: Hello,
I have been recently getting yeast infections after sexual intercourse. i have had the same partner for over 12 years. On December 1st, I took the insertable Canesten tablet. Had my period on December 4 -8. On the 10th, I had intercourse, and on the 11th, after an intense workout, I noticed a dark brown discharge in my underwear and very light pink while wiping. The bleeding dissipated almost immediately.
On the 12th, I had intercourse again, with no vaginal bleeding. On the 15th, in the morning, I took another canesten insertable tablet, as I felt I had a yeast infection again. I also engaged in another strenuous exercise routing that evening and noticed within an hour very light pink spotting on the tissue paper.
I have never experienced any breakthrough bleeding during my menstrual cycle. In 2020, my PAP test was normal. I also had the HPV DNA test performed, and it was negative for any strains of cancerous HPV.
What could cause this?
