Why I Have Had Rapid Weight Loss?
Question: Hello, wondering if some labs answer why I have had rapid weight loss, night sweats and fatigue. These are top symtpoms, loss of appetite, rash on low back and butt, brain fog, shoulder pain and low back pain. loss from 220 to 155 lbs in 7 months. So far only abnormal labs are high absolute esinophils, high immunoglobulin a, high free light chain kappa. Chest scan showed small mediastinum nodes up to 1.2cm. male 53, 6'3
Brief Answer:
Hello dear. You need further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
So, the symptoms of rapid decrease in weight, night sweats, fatigue point towards either a chronic infection like tuberculosis, or a more serious issue like cancer. Though your blood reports do not suggest either, I will strongly recommend to get a petct scan done which can pick both of these conditions.
Mediastinal node on chest scan is the most abnormal finding. Kappa levels and immunoglobulin level do not suggest anything specific and can be ignored.
Kind regards. Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
