Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
You have mentioned your symptoms like muscle spasm and itching as acid reflux symptoms.
But these are not acid reflux symptoms. Acid reflux symptoms include heartburn, belching, nausea, chest discomfort, feeling of lump in the throat etc.
For relief from muscle spasms you may require tizanidine.
For relief from itching itching you may require cetrizine.
You can take these after discussing with your doctor.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

I’ve said acid reflux symptoms because it happened after getting acid reflux for more than twice a week for a couple of weeks or more .. its more of a chest tightness in the esophagus area and sharp stabbing in addition to itching .. all in the esophagus area .. also the symptoms come and go during the days .. i also feel a lump in my throat that feels more like a mucus, i didnt mention it because i thought it has nothing to do with it.

Hi,
In addition to medications certain lifestyle and dietary changes are to done for good control of symptoms .
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoid smoking/alcohol ( if you have these habits)
3. Avoid coffee, citrus, chocolates, carbonated beverages, tomatoes, fatty food, spicy food
4. Eat multiple smaller meals
5. Go to bed at least 2-3 hours after food
6. Follow stress relief methods
If in spite of all these you get symptoms, then a 24 hours pH monitoring test has to be done..
