Question: After taking Covishield vaccine 1st dose, my BP went upto 160/100. Was advised Telmikind 40 OD. The BP has come down to 140/90 but not to my nor6level of 130/80.

Hi Thanks for posting the query,
Kindly let me know the age and gender details, do regular walking of physical activity with salt restriction diet along with the prescribed medication. When did you get covid vaccination done? usuaaly it takes 2 month after the medications for regularizing the blood pressure. I doubt if you had increased BP before the vaccination and had not examined.

Male, Age 67 years. Vaccination was on 8th March. BP was taken 5 days after vaccination. On the second day of vaccination there was mild fever 100.5 which subsided without medication. BP measurement is taken regularly with 2 days interval after vaccination. Prior to vaccination I check BP weekly.
Take regular (4-6 times a week) walk in the morning and a little add-on walk in the evening to complete at least 10000 steps a day.

Hi Thanks for the follow up

You can follow your walking and other diet regimen as it is. Hope you are taking medications for BP 1 week after 8th March 2021. Kindly wait for 1- 2 months with the same medications and get regular BP checked. 140/90 mmhg is also normal range for your age. It'll take some time to return back to your normal range like before.
