Why Am I Experiencing Pressure Like Pain In My Mid To Upper Abdomen That Gets Severe During Urination?
Question: I have been on antibiotics 3 days for uti. I am now experiencing pressure like pain in my mid to upper abdomen on right and left side and severe when I I need to use bathroom. Will this go away as I use last 3 days of antibiotics or is this completely unrelated? I feel worse now then before I went to dr.

Sorry to hear of your sickness. I understand these symptoms are not related to UTI. The symptoms are more related to your bowel. There may be little irritation in your gut. This may be related to primary infection of the gut (if these symptoms were there before the antibiotics) but if these symptoms of pain in tummy were not there before anti biotics then one possibility may be drug induces gastritis as antibiotics can alter bowel flora.
I understand you should now talk to your doctor as the infection should have been much better after 3 days of anti biotics and if problems is increasing we need re assessment. The problems looks very unrelated to your UTI but may well be related to your drug.
