Why Am I Experiencing Severe Intestinal Cramping With Very Watery Bloody Diarrhea Along With A Low Grade Fever?
Acure gastroenteritis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As per your query most likely you are having gastroenteritis.
Gastroenteritis is inflammation of gastric mucosa. Most commonly its viral.Viral gastroenteritis usually limits itself in 7-10 days, But in your case as there is blood and fever bacteria or protozoa may be involved.
Initially I would advice you to go for stool routine and microscopy test to rule out to rule out Bacterial or Protozoal infection. As therapy with antibiotic has to be taken if its bacterial or protozoal enteritis.
As of now for controlling diarrhea take imodium (Loperamide) 4mg thrice daily, Along with it take a probiotic twice daily (Econorm). It repletes the disturbed gastric flora hence making digestion better.
Take paracetamol SOS for fever.
They are over the counter.
An antispasmodic like dicyclomine can be taken to decrease spasms.
If antibiotics are available then take a three days course of Rifaxamin 550mg once daily with Metronidazole 400mg thrice daily for 3 days.
General precautions-
Eat light and easily digestible food.
Avoid meat.
Try boiled food(Vegetables) with spices and herbs for a week.
Drink plenty of orange juice and coconut water.
keep yourself hydrated.
Follow up with reports of stool test.
follow up.

Hi,
There are a few things to consider when a person says he has blood in the stool.
The first thing is if it is really blood. There are some food and industrial chemicals that might be in stool and give the impression it is blood and in fact, it is not. Unless it bright red blood (which is clear that it is blood). Other times the way to know if you are bleeding or not is having a stool occult blood test or a stool microscopy that will confirm the presence of blood with the stools.
Unless this test is positive it would be considered as case of gastroenteritis(Amoebic and protoxoal may cause mild bleed).
Thanks!
