Most common cause of recurrent episodes of cold is sinusitis along with low immunity. I'll therefore advice you for a 'X Ray PNS - Waters view'. Can you also tell me what is your age and do you have any other underlying disease. Kindly meet a ENT surgeon after the X Ray who can guide you for further management.

Hello Sir,

Thank you for the response, my age is 28 and till now there is no disease. Somtime back i have met with ENT specialist and he advised me that the bone of nose is increased bit due to that am getting cold and suggested me for surgery. Am bit confused in this, Can you help me?

Deviation of nasal septum(increase in bone of nose) is a very very common thing and if it is causing recurrent synonyms like you are having, it should definitely be operated. I am doing regular gym activity & taking swimming classes, will it be affected after surgery?

Also kindly guide me whether this surgery is covered under medi-claim (health insurance) or not sir? If not than what would be the approximate cost for the same sir.

Septoplasty for DNS

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Septoplasty is a very safe surgery and you will be discharged next day after surgery. Their is no side effect or problem per se after surgery. Check with your ENT specialist for its efficacy and any surgical side effects. You can continue your gym and swimming as usual. You just have to avoid it for a week to prevent infection or bleeding in it.

The cost varies from hospital to hospital. It generally costs between 50 thousand To 1 lakh rupee. You don't need to go to a big hospital to get it done. You can get it done in any hospital where ENT facility is available.

Some of the insurance company do not cover this surgery. So please confirm with your insurance company before going for it.
Rest assured you will be fine and better post surgery.
