Why Am I Getting Spotting Instead Of Menstrual Bleeding Despite It Be Past My Due Date?
Question: I have been spotting for 6 days. Not enough for a tampon. i was due for my period yesterday and it still has not shown up. I feel sick with worry. The discharge started as brown and has now turned red. Is this just a really light period and it was early?
Brief Answer:
Pregnancy should be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Scanty periods can be due to hormonal disturbance or due to pregnancy, if there is a possibility of pregnancy.
I will suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done.
If negative, then you can get thyroid hormone levels and prolactin levels to confirm the diagnosis and get further treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Not very serious

Hi,
This is not something very serious, rather it is most likely to be a hormonal disturbance which is correctable by medications.
