Why Am I Having Sharp Pain In My Head Behind My Left Ear?
Considerations
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is possible that your pain may reflect an inner ear infection. If you have any fever or associated congestion, cough or drainage, I would suspect a possible infectious process. If you have any drainage coming out of your ear this would also reflect a possible infection.
Other considerations might include inflammation of the blood vessels in the area near your ear. This is more rare and is referred to as temporal arteritis. Typically the pain related to this is in front of the ear or around the temple.
I think it would be a good idea to go for a brief evaluation by your PCP or urgent care physician to help determine the exact cause of the pain and so that you may obtain treatment to alleviate the discomfort.
Thanks again for sending the query,
Sincerely,
