Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
We don't prescribe on this site (it's an international company and we aren't licensed everywhere) but I can discuss it with you and help sort out what you should do.
I have a few questions so I can learn more about your situation to help me advise:
1. How long has it been since you urinated?
2. Are you taking any supplements or medications? Some can cause urinary retention.
3. Have you been drinking a normal amount of water?
4. Any burning or pain when you urinate?
5. Any discharge?
6. When did this difficultly firs start?
7. Any aching in the flanks (on the sides of your lower back) or in the pubic region?
Thanks - I'll write more after I hear back.

Brief Answer:
Discontinue the cold/cough medicine
Detailed Answer:
I'm sorry I was not able to get back to you sooner.
The one thing in the additional history that you provided that might be the cause is the medication that you are using to treat cough or a cold. If it contains a decongestant (such as pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine) or an antihistamine (such as diphenhydramine, chlorpheneramine, etc), these can cause urinary retention.
I advise you to stop taking the over the counter medicine for cough/cold and see if that doesn't make the urinary retention better.
If you were older, I would be concerned about prostate enlargement, but that doesn't typically happen in someone your age. And given that you aren't having pain in the kidney or urogenital area, I think the possibility of problems in these areas are less likely. Most likely it's the over the counter med.
I asked how long its been since you last urinated and you wrote 4 days. I'll assume you have urinated in this period of time but you mean that you haven't urinated easily or normally in that period of time. If my assumption is incorrect, please let me know. Because not urinating at all in 4 days would be an emergency and I will direct you to go to the ER if that is the case.
If you stop the cold/cough med and you aren't starting to improve in 24 hrs, then do go in to be seen.
Please let me know how you are doing after you discontinue the medicine.

Brief Answer:
It's likely to be the meds
Detailed Answer:
Codeine is an opiate, and that can definitely cause urinary retention in some people.
I'm including here a link to an article about medications that can cause urinary retention. To see it you will have to copy and paste it into your search bar as it won't "link" here.

I'm pretty sure you will be better after you discontinue these meds.
