Why Are Abilify, Remeron And Oxcarbazepine Prescribed?
Question: My 33 year old grandson has been described Abilify-5m, Remaron-45m, and Oxlettafer-300. Can you help me with the possible diagnosis. He deals with depression, anger, and insomina. YYYY@YYYY

I can understand your concern. He is 33 years old and is taking Abilify (Aripiprazole) 5 mg, Rameron (Mirtazapine) 45 mg and Oxcarbazepine 300 mg per day. Out of these medicines Abilify is an antipsychotic drug but also used in mood stabilisation in low doses. Remaron is an antidepressant drug and is used in a number of conditions. Oxcarbazapine is used as mood stabiliser drug. His symptoms are depression, anger issues and insomnia. Though to comment with certainty more detailed evaluation is needed but on the basis of the drugs he is taking and history you have mentioned it appears that he is probably suffering from some mood disorder possibly Bipolar Affective Disorder. Other possibility is some Depressive disorder.
The diagnosis is based upon the medicines he is using and brief symptoms you have mentioned.
