Brief Answer:
may be due to poor circulation or abnormal nerve supply

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

These symptoms may be due to issues with the circulation or nerve supply/function to the area.

If there are problems with nerve supply or function, this is called neuropathy. There are different possible causes of neuropathy, it may be permanent or temporary.
Causes include-(1) trauma to the nerves eg arthritis of the neck where the nerves come out or the shoulder area
(2)diabetes
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)low vitamin b12 or folate
(5)thyroid disease
(6)autoimmune disease eg lupus or RA
(7)abnormal b6 levels
(8)nerve conditions such as MS or stroke

If there is poor blood supply then there may also be pallor of the hands and nail beds.

An assessment by your doctor would determine which is present.

Poor circulation would also cause delayed filling of the nail beds- this means if the finger nail is pressed down till it appears white, then let go, the blood/color should return in about 2 seconds.

The exact diagnosis would affect the medication and other treatment given.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
